The unsolved mystery of GC-X Town
GC-X Town acts as the operating system for an old satellite internet service, but it also has a secret: someone stole the name of the town.
Players were supposed to uncover the mystery little by little, via game updates. but when the satellite service got discontinued, the answers to the mystery were lost.
Asked by a client of your investigation agency, you stumble upon a mysterious disk, containing a lost version of the game.
While working on my latest game, Koyamachou Repair Shop, I became obsessed with Nintendo's Satellaview service, a weird pre-internet experiment that, due to its timed live content, generated a lot of lost media. I think the most interesting thing that was lost was the solution to the mysterious lore of "BS-X The Story of the Town Whose Name Was Stolen": the game was basically a lobby for accessing various content, but it was built like a classic RPG town, here you can find more info on that game, I think it's very interesting.
So this is my bitsy recreation of that town, made for Bitsy Jam 76!
Unfortunately I had very little time, so I couldn't flesh out the story and I'm sure the english will be terrible in this lol (sorry!), but it was still fun to make it as a quick sketch and also a spin-off to Koyamachou Watch Repair Shop, so if you like this stuff I suggest you check that game too!
Art was made with Aseprite and Pixaki and implemented to bitsy via Pixsy by Ruin
Music by me! (check my bandcamp for more!)

i really really love the design of the town, it's very cute and rly immersive, it legitimately feels like you're playing a little game forgotten in time and the town and everyone in it is stuck just in this one moment in the past
thank you! ye that was the intent!
This game was a real delight. Really interesting to learn about the Satellaview service, too. I'll definitely check out Koyamachou Repair Shop!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it too!
