In 20XX machines begin to hallucinate and the results of their anomalies haunt the planet.

The department of parapsychology has found a way to fight back, but their theories have never been tested on the field.

A game made for MechJam V, mixing mechas, sci-fi, and the paranormal. I wanted to attempt doing a horror story in a classic post-apocalyptic mech setting, I think hunting ghosts with giant robots could be a cool thing to do.

For the presentation, I was inspired by The Silver Case and the very interesting way that game puts things on the screen. It was a challenge to figure out how to achieve that in Renpy but I think I put together a pretty flexible system that I could use for future games too. The art style is also new for me: mixing pre-rendered backgrounds made with Blender and VRDroid and hand-drawn pixel art for the GUI and various elements.

Unfortunately, I couldn't finish the story in time for the jam, so I'm just uploading the first part for now, but I made all the assets that I need and planned the end accordingly it's just a matter of finding the time to finish! I hope soon!

ACCESSIBILITY MODE

There is just a basic implementation of accessibility features for now. You can turn self-voicing on by pressing V,  NVDA users can enable text output to the clipboard by pressing "shift+C" .

To set the self-voicing volume (usually it's very loud!) you can access the Accessibility Menu by pressing A on your keyboard. The two settings that regulate volume are Voice Volume and Self-Voicing Volume Drop (this one determines how much the rest of the game audio is lowered when self-voicing is on).

Press ENTER, SPACE, or A on your controller to advance dialogue. When you reach a menu, a bell sound will play, you can use arrow keys or directional buttons to select items from the menu.

just a few minutes into the game and...

What's your deal with "mystifying" technology you're the only creator I know that covers this theme a lot and yet you manage to do it so well everytime!!!

anyway I'm off to the play the rest of the game

loool true! I think that's because I have the same attitude towards technology in real life too!

as someone into old motorcycles, I can totally relate

anyways looking forward to the rest of the game!
